PGS Worldwide is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Specialist in Chelmsford, MA for a 1-year contract-to-hire role working 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM EST. This position supports a major aerospace & defense company and focuses on warehouse operations involving material receiving, shipment preparation, documentation, and compliance with transportation and hazmat requirements. Candidates must be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in professional shipping environments.

Required Skills

  • Active Interim Secret or Active Secret clearance (required to start)
  • 2-3 years of shipping and receiving experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • DOT Hazmat Ground Shipper Certification (required)
  • Hands-on experience packing and unpacking materials such as assemblies, raw stock, finished products, parts, equipment, and supplies
  • Ability to verify quantities, weights, bills of lading, and shipping details
  • Experience using computer systems to track, log, verify, and report shipments
  • Ability to follow shipping procedures, routing requirements, and scheduling practices
  • Willingness to work on a dock environment with required PPE (safety shoes)
Preferred Skills
  • Forklift certification
  • Background supporting shipping operations in aerospace, defense, or other regulated environments
  • Experience preparing compliant hazmat documentation
What You'll Do
  • Receive incoming materials and prepare outgoing shipments according to established procedures
  • Pack, unpack, wrap, and move materials including products, assemblies, parts, and supplies
  • Verify order accuracy, quantities, weights, and documentation such as bills of lading and shipping papers
  • Post weight and shipping charges, accurately routing merchandise to designated destinations
  • Use computer systems to track materials, log transactions, and maintain shipment records
  • Follow transportation routing, schedules, and shipping standards to ensure compliant movement of goods
  • Support dock operations and handle materials safely and efficiently
  • Operate forklifts or material handling equipment if certified
  • Ensure compliance with hazmat regulations and complete required documentation for special shipments
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety requirements
