Hospital Surgical Technologist Job Details

  • Assignment Type: Travel Surgical Technologist
  • Duration: 12 weeks (potential extension available)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,520 - $1,640
  • Shift Duration: 12 Hour Any
  • Shift Options: Three 12-hour, four 10-hour, or five 8-hour shifts per week
  • On-Call: Every 5th weekend and 1-2 calls per week; 30-minute response time required
  • Start Date: February 15, 2026
  • End Date: May 10, 2026
Surgical Technologist Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of recent hospital experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Experience with orthopedic, neuro, and vascular surgical procedures
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
  • BLS certification required
  • CST certification preferred (Certified Surgical Technologist)
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical support skills
  • Knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation
  • Ability to meet on-call response requirements within 30 minutes
Surgical Technologist Responsibilities
  • Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, including ortho, neuro, and vascular cases
  • Prepare, maintain, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Ensure proper central processing of instruments
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to urgent surgical needs
  • Adapt to changing patient census and staffing needs in a hospital setting
