Job Title: Registered Nurse

Must-Have: Ortho experience, Telemetry experience, NIH Stroke Scale knowledge

Description:
Number of Beds on Unit: 23
Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5
Unit staffing includes Unit Secretaries and Patient Care Technicians.
Type of equipment used includes traction devices, fixators, and cooling equipment.
Documentation is done through a specific electronic system.
Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts and three weekend shifts per schedule period.
Contract labor is first to float to other medical-surgical level of care units.
Patient Experience requirements include bedside shift reporting and hourly rounding.
This unit is certified as a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Procedures performed include post-operative care for knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as trauma patients and some neuro overflow cases.
Knowledge of the NIH Stroke Scale is advantageous.
Dress code requires navy scrubs.
Unit-specific policies and guidelines are available for review.
