Application Developer

CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer - Java & Web Technologies position for our client in Piscataway, NJ.

Duration: 12 months

Duties:

• Design, develop, and support enterprise applications using Java/JEE and related web technologies.

• Implement transaction management and manage Java objects in enterprise systems.

• Utilize Java frameworks and languages such as Ruby or Groovy for web development.

• Apply software design principles including dependency injection, inversion of control, and aspect-oriented programming.

• Develop and maintain batch processing solutions and data access frameworks.

• Implement functional programming practices and test-driven development methodologies.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.

• Ensure high-quality code and adherence to software development best practices.

Skills:

• Strong expertise in Java/JEE and web technologies (Ruby, Groovy, or similar).

• Experience with dependency injection, inversion of control, and aspect-oriented programming.

• Knowledge of functional programming and test-driven development (TDD).

• Familiarity with data access frameworks, transaction management, and batch processing.

• Proficient in DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment automation).

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design scalable, maintainable applications.

Experience:

• Proven experience developing enterprise applications using Java/JEE technologies.

• Hands-on experience with web development frameworks and languages (Ruby, Groovy, or equivalent).

• Experience with DevOps processes, CI/CD tools, and automated deployment pipelines.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00 to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
