Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies
Located on the downtown Orlando campus, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies opened in 2006, providing programs and services focused on the unique needs of women and newborns. Specialized care covers all facets of women's health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. The hospital is "Magnet" recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care and is certified in perinatal care by The Joint Commission. Welcoming nearly 14,000 babies each year, the hospital's 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care beds, making it one of the largest neonatal intensive care units under one roof in the country. Winnie Palmer Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation Servic is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide comprehensive care for our NICU. This position works in close collaboration with our multi-disciplinary NICU team including PT, SLP, RT, case management, neonatologists and sub-specialists to provide optimal care for all babies in our newborn nursery, and Level IV NICU.
Shift: Part Time
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Comprehensive evaluation and collaboration with the NICU clinical team
- Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to neurodevelopmental care appropriate to the age of the patient
- Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate
- Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing using an electronic medical record.
- Communicates and collaborates within a multi-disciplinary NICU team
- Attends rehabilitation meetings, in-services, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment.
- Maintains a positive and encouraging treatment environment.
- Demonstrates compassion, honesty, and open communication with all patients and coworkers.
- Participates in performance improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety, and infection control, as required.
- Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment.
- Instructs and supervises supportive personnel in their duties.
Education/Training
Bachelor's degree or higher from an approved program in occupational therapy.
Licensure/Certification
• Maintains current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida-temporary permit acceptable.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience
- At least two years of experience as a pediatric occupational therapist
