Manufacturing Technician
Ayer, MA Contract to Hire
$18.00-$21.00/hour depending on experience
1st shift - Will train 8:00am to 4:30pm

Summary
  • Performs inspection, cleaning, gluing, measuring, (optical and mechanical) and packaging of optical components at various stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Also assist with light maintenance.
  • Document results of the process accurately and legibly is necessary for this position.
  • The person must be comfortable working in a team environment.
  • This position requires overtime when necessary.
  • This may occur on weekdays or occasional Saturdays.
Your Daily Activities will include:
  • Handle and process glass substrates per written procedures
  • Perform mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers & other types of manual or electric gauges and document the results
  • Perform optical measurements using industry standard and product specific test equipment and document the results
  • Operates machinery as necessary on the job
  • Perform light maintenance or calibration on various pieces of equipment used in the process
  • Able to work and stand for several hours per day
  • Other assigned tasks as required
Skills
  • Ability to learn the use of calipers, micrometers, and other types of measurement devices
  • Ability to follow instructions and produce parts in accordance with established standards

Education, Experience, and Knowledge
  • High School or GED preferred
  • Read/Write English
  • Familiar with basic computer and spreadsheet skills
  • Basic math comprehension
  • Effective communication skills
  • Prior experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred
  • Prior experience with photoresist processing preferred
  • Must be able to legally work in the US
  • Preemployment drug test and background check is required
