The Sourcing Specialist plays a key role in collaborating with various teams to meet product development and sourcing goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of our product range.
  • Understand and utilize HFT's databases to ensure accurate data alignment.
  • Assist in establishing a strategic vendor base for prioritized categories.
  • Evaluate vendors for their ability to meet deadlines, maintain quality, and adhere to cost requirements.
  • Learn about HFT's techniques for finding, evaluating, and selecting vendors for product supply.
  • Support product line transitions from vendor sourcing to product costing, sampling, and quality testing.
  • Identify new products that can enhance our offerings and present data-driven proposals to the cross-functional team.
  • Work efficiently under urgent deadlines.
  • Engage in daily collaboration with merchandising, packaging, quality assurance, and sourcing teams to meet company objectives.

Position Scope:

  • Organizational Scope: All US locations within a single category/region.
  • Travel: 15-30% overseas travel required.
  • Location: HQ Corporate.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years in relevant retail buying or 2 years in project management/new product development.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to execute product strategies successfully.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment focused on customer service.
  • Strong research skills for product trends and ability to analyze supplier proposals.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency to ensure a smooth purchasing process.
  • Experience in sourcing products from vendors and attending trade shows.
  • Ability to generate and analyze sales reports effectively.
  • Proficient with computers and automated systems.
  • Self-starter with a results-driven attitude and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities with a collaborative approach.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Capable of effective communication in person and over the phone.
  • Proficient in using a keyboard and reading from a computer screen.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

All candidates must be able to perform this role safely according to standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without risking their own or others' safety.
