As a Respiratory Therapist/NIV Specialist, you will assess customers' respiratory needs and select, instruct, and troubleshoot appropriate equipment and services to meet those needs.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Document orders for respiratory equipment/services from referral sources, collecting additional information or authorization as needed.
  • Assess customer needs and involve family and caregivers in choosing appropriate equipment/services.
  • Act as a liaison among the company, customers, families, caregivers, physicians, and healthcare agencies.
  • Instruct customers on the proper use and care of equipment according to policies and procedures.
  • Educate oxygen patients on their disease and the benefits of oxygen therapy to improve compliance with physician orders.
  • Communicate changes in customer conditions to physicians and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Complete customer account paperwork, including Plan of Care/Treatment, Equipment Contact forms, assessments, and discharge plans as per policy.

Qualifications:

Education: Current, valid Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to obtain additional state licensure as needed.
  • Thorough knowledge and skills in the respiratory care field.
  • Ability to understand respiratory implications of industry changes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with strong customer relations skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with office and clerical motor skills, including extensive computer and phone usage.
  • Driving may be required, so possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
