Principal GCP Cloud Consultant
Pay: $75-$85/hr
Location: Hybrid (Remote with in-office collaboration as needed)
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal Google Cloud Consultant to lead large-scale enterprise cloud transformation initiatives. This role focuses on designing and deploying secure, scalable, and innovative solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for a major telecommunications client. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud architecture, migration strategies, microservices, and emerging technologies such as AI and IoT, with a proven track record of managing complex enterprise projects from conception to completion. You will act as a technical leader, guiding migration programs-including on-prem to GCP and cloud-to-cloud transitions-while collaborating closely with client teams to shape strategic roadmaps and deliver impactful outcomes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in enterprise technology architecture, pre-sales, and strategic solution delivery
- 7+ years managing senior technical engineers or consultants
- Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Kubernetes, containers, and microservices
- Strong background in software development and cloud-native architectures
- Experience leading large-scale migration and modernization initiatives
- Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud environments, security, and compliance in regulated industries
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Relevant certifications, preferably Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- Lead architecture, design, and deployment of cloud-native solutions tailored to large enterprise needs
- Manage end-to-end migration programs, including on-premise to GCP and cloud-to-cloud transitions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate enterprise requirements into technical solutions
- Provide strategic guidance on cloud adoption, modernization, and hybrid/multi-cloud integration
- Drive microservice, DevSecOps, and CI/CD pipeline implementations to modernize legacy systems
- Design secure cloud frameworks covering identity, access management, networking, and governance
- Lead efforts in emerging technologies such as AI, ML, IoT, and hyperautomation, including agentic AI systems with LLMs and RAG
- Mentor and manage senior technical staff, fostering best practices and technical excellence
- Develop reusable assets, best practices, and thought leadership in cloud consulting
- Ensure reliable, often production-grade, solution delivery with proper testing and lifecycle management
- Communicate complex technical strategies effectively to technical and executive stakeholders
