About The Position
Job Title: Clinical Nurse (RN) Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years of acute care experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Triage experience Description: The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, quality nursing care. This role aligns with the philosophy and goals of the Department of Nursing. The RN utilizes nursing theories and models to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for all assigned patients. The RN makes determinations regarding patient progress toward goals and fosters therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Care is tailored to meet the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of patients. The RN supports the mission, vision, values, and commitment to excellence of the organization. Competence is demonstrated through the ability to transfer scientific knowledge in applying the nursing process. The RN provides care consistent with the interdisciplinary plan and principles of Relationship Based Care. Ongoing assessment of patients' physical and psychosocial conditions informs the formulation of nursing diagnoses. Collaboration with the client ensures that care plans prioritize safety, comfort, hygiene, and disease prevention. Essential nursing skills are performed, and health treatment is explained to clients and families. Education is provided to clients and families on managing health needs. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of care plans based on observations and communication with clients. Knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications are essential. Tasks are delegated to team members based on their legal scopes of practice and capabilities. The RN advocates for clients by initiating actions to improve healthcare decisions and facilitating informed choices. Culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care is provided within legal standards. Coordination of patient care activities with healthcare professionals is a key responsibility. Communication skills are utilized to facilitate safe patient handoffs. Nursing care documentation aligns with hospital policies. Manual and automated information systems are used to enhance productivity. Accountability for patient satisfaction and positive care experiences is emphasized. The RN assists in resolving complaints to ensure immediate resolution where possible. Investigating complaints and providing information to leadership is part of the role. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
