As part of the Hartford HealthCare Medical Group, one of New England's largest medical practices, you will work alongside a diverse team of professionals, from Medical Assistants to Physician Assistants. Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in both clinical and clerical support, enhancing patient care within your scope of education. This position also includes tasks associated with Patient Service Coordination.
- Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of a provider, including taking vitals, conducting medical reconciliations, screenings, and documenting patient history.
- Assist with indirect patient care, such as scheduling, check-in/check-out procedures, referrals, and prior authorizations. You will also conduct point-of-care testing, ensuring quality control and accurate documentation.
- Perform administrative responsibilities and provide front desk coverage as needed.
- Be flexible and willing to float to other offices based on organizational needs.
Qualifications
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic Certification OR relevant experience.
- Certification as a BLS Provider from the American Heart Association (AHA) must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- All credentials must be maintained throughout your employment.
Experience:
- In lieu of educational requirements, at least one year of direct patient care experience (acute or ambulatory) is preferred.
- Experience or externship in a busy medical office setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR system is preferred.
- Experience in cardiology is an advantage.
