Join Our Innovative Subscriptions Team
As a Lead Full Stack Developer, you'll play a crucial role in Future's Subscriptions Team, collaborating closely with the broader Technology & Engineering department. Your expertise will guide the development of new software components and the enhancement of existing code, ensuring we deliver top-tier services and products.
Reporting to the Senior Tech Lead, your primary focus will be on crafting new components for Future's subscriptions platform, thriving in an Agile delivery environment. You'll help shape the architecture of our applications and systems, gaining comprehensive insights into the entire stack while specializing in subscriptions and systems such as Kiosq Paywall, the Vanilla Publishing Platform, and Hawk Affiliate Systems.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring the code you write is well-scoped, monitored, documented, and testable. A strong understanding of testing practices is essential, as you will be writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks like Vitest, PHPUnit, Jest, Cypress, or WebDriverIO. You're committed to setting up safeguards that prevent regressions and tracing bugs throughout the stack.
In addition to your coding responsibilities, you'll actively participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback before changes proceed to QA and production. As a senior leader, you'll also mentor junior developers, offering guidance through code reviews, technical direction, and personalized support to help them develop their skills and confidence.
Key Qualifications That Will Set You Apart:
- Extensive experience in modern web development with PHP, React, and TypeScript.
- Deep knowledge of CSS and JavaScript, including their latest features.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, working with complex types, and familiarity with modern build systems.
- Experience building high-performing components from scratch in current JavaScript frameworks.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics using tools like Flame graphs.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Understanding of basic accessibility requirements.
- Skill in retrieving and managing data from various sources, including databases and external APIs.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps methodologies and tools.

The salary range for this role is between 50,000 - 55,000.
