The Hematology & Oncology Department is a well-established, state-of-the-art practice that provides nationally recognized cancer care. Our practice serves patients throughout Orange County, Hudson Valley, and the lower Catskills. Here, you’ll find all the tools, support, and an exceptional team to practice at your peak capacity and contribute significantly to community health.

  • This is a hospital-based role focused on patient care.
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, with call every 7 weekends (or longer based on staffing).
  • Two days off following each weekend of call.
  • Coverage includes St. Luke's in Newburgh and Garnet Medical Center in Middletown.
  • Engage with a diverse adult-focused patient population (18+).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treat various hematologic and oncologic conditions including anemia, sickle cell anemia, hematologic malignancies, and more.
  • Consult with patients and discuss their health status alongside the latest treatment advancements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
  • Examine, diagnose, and determine appropriate treatment plans while overseeing pre- and post-surgery care.
  • Order tests, interpret results, and maintain accurate medical records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of (or in progress) an accredited relevant fellowship training program.
  • BC/BE in Hematology/Oncology or Medical Oncology.
  • New York State Medical License (or ability to obtain).
  • Current DEA certificate for New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
