Join Our Amazing OR Team As a Surgical Technologist I, you will play a vital role in the operating room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients. Your attention to detail and ability to thrive in intense situations will make a direct impact on patient care.

Schedule: Full-time evening shift with 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, including on-call responsibilities. Primarily overnight call (around 5-8 slots) and 1-2 weekend call slots every 8 weeks, with potential for varying call requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the surgical area, ensuring optimal conditions for patient care utilizing aseptic techniques
  • Maintain a clean and organized operating room, setting up for procedures efficiently
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by providing instruments and supplies
  • Manage equipment and notify staff of any issues
  • Transport patients and handle various positioning duties
  • Ensure the specialty cart is complete and all equipment is in working order
  • Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care requirements

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 6 months if required

Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Experience Required:

  • No prior experience necessary

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Commitment to ongoing educational requirements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to lift and carry weights as required for patient care
  • Must meet safety requirements including exposure to hazards in the operating room
  • Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment
