The Associate Medical Leadership Officer will play a vital role in supervising and training primary care providers (PCPs) at our centers. You will be responsible for enhancing clinical quality, efficiency, outcomes, and clinician/patient satisfaction, while also engaging in direct patient care. This position entails balancing clinical duties and leadership responsibilities, focusing on performance and creating a strong culture within our clinical-operations framework.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients, especially older adults, addressing both acute and chronic illnesses.
- Take full ownership of patient care, coordinating with specialists as needed while maintaining oversight of detailed care plans.
- Engage with hospitalists for coordinating patient care during hospital stays.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage complex health needs, promoting education and proper documentation.
- Lead a care team, including medical assistants and coordinators, to ensure efficient patient management in-office and through transitional care for those unable to visit.
- Conduct weekly meetings with your care team to ensure alignment and progress towards clinical goals.
- Actively participate in management duties including supporting recruitment efforts for both patients and healthcare providers.
- Mentor and support PCPs to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with Operations Directors to improve center performance and drive membership growth.
- Perform other tasks as directed to support overall organizational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various company applications.
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally nationally for training and recruiting.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Capable of making independent clinical judgments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty is required.
- Active MD licensure in your state of employment is mandatory.
- At least 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric, adult, or family practice is preferred, ideally as a ChenMed PCP Partner.
- Completion of ChenMed training focused on effective communication and facilitation is necessary.
- Board certification in your specialty is preferred; otherwise, board eligibility is required.
- Current DEA number for controlled substances is needed.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hiring.
