Inpatient Dialysis Registered Nurse - Float

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:30 - 20:00), every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Inpatient Dialysis Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis in an acute care setting. The RN will float between various units, including the ICU, IMC, SDU, Med/Surg, and dialysis units to deliver exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and set up dialysis treatments.
  • Cannulate AV fistulas and grafts, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Monitor patients for symptoms and manage clinical responses during dialysis.
  • Utilize dialysis equipment and troubleshoot machine alarms effectively.
  • Perform manual-gravity peritoneal dialysis exchanges.
  • Assist in the management of a diverse patient population, including those with AKI, ARF, and ESRD.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • 1 year of RN experience in dialysis; first-time travelers with strong dialysis experience will be accepted.
  • Current MD RN license, BLS, CPI, and NIH certifications required; ACLS and CDN preferred.
  • Previous charge experience preferred.
  • Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred.
