Description

Summary: Assume responsibility for maintenance, appearance, and cleanliness of the facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but not limited to
  • Responsible for maintaining facility security.
  • Initiate work orders for maintenance.
  • Use carpentry/ mechanical skills as needed, including using power and hand tools.
  • Fill propane as needed.
  • Stock first aid kits as needed.
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly checks on equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure buildings and clean at all times.
  • Keep material system and vacuum pump room in good working order.
  • Keep silo area neat and clean at all times.
  • Keep molding room stocked with supplies.
  • Order and keep janitorial supplies stocked.
  • Change filters in the grinding room as needed.
  • Operate forklift as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/ Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to pass both a written and hands-on performance test to obtain a Sterilite Forklift License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

New hires and employees being considered for promotion into this position are required to pass a drug test prior to being awarded the position.
