Job Summary:
The Nursing Operations Director is responsible for efficiently managing the daily operations of primary care clinics and leading the nursing staff. This role focuses on performance improvement, staff development, and ensuring high standards in nursing services. The Nursing Operations Director will work independently within the nursing practice scope and engage effectively with diverse populations, including clients, staff, and volunteers. This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer.
Competencies & Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of primary health care clinics.
- Recruit, onboard, and supervise nursing leadership, nurses, and other clinical staff.
- Develop and manage an ongoing nursing quality assessment and assurance program, communicating outcomes through reports to medical and administrative leaders.
- Establish and maintain nursing service objectives, standards of practice, and policy manuals for various nursing roles.
- Collaborate with Clinical & Outreach Engagement leadership to enhance and implement clinical programming and operations.
- Advise the Chief Medical Officer on nursing resource needs, including personnel, equipment, and supplies.
- Uphold established facility standards, codes of conduct, and compliance plans.
- Foster a work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates quality employees and volunteers.
- Implement infection control measures to ensure compliance in all nursing functions and activities.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Chief Medical Officer about clinical outcomes and quality trends.
- Assess nursing staff training needs and coordinate appropriate education programs.
- Promote cooperation and open communication among direct reports and fellow clinical directors.
- Work collaboratively with other Care Alliance staff to optimize center operations.
- Manage on-site pharmaceuticals and supplies inventory.
- Review clinic statistics and audits, completing necessary reports.
- Provide primary care nursing as needed, managing scheduled clinics and covering nursing staff as required.
- Engage with healthcare professionals at Care Alliance to facilitate a comprehensive approach to patient management.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with licensure as a Registered Nurse (other clinical licensure may be considered).
- Current and in good standing license with the State Nursing Board.
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN), Public Health, or a related field required.
- Minimum three years of healthcare management and administration experience; prior FQHC, community health, or ambulatory experience preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing clinical performance improvement strategies.
- Knowledge of accreditation and quality standards for ambulatory and primary care.
- Familiarity with health issues, including chronic illnesses, communicable diseases, and mental health conditions.
Compensation details: $85,000 - $100,000 Yearly Salary
