Description

Salary Range: ($26.00-$28.00/ Hourly Compensation)

Basic Job Function: To provide administrative support services for the Human Resources department.

Position Requirements

Essential Function

  • Greet colleagues in a professional and positive manner, answers telephone calls and assist all walk-in's; prepares employee nametags and ID cards as needed; general ordering of office supplies
  • Responsible for the filing and logging of disciplinary actions; placing the policy and procedure in the DCF
  • Assist Human Resources team with recognizing colleague birthdays and anniversaries in the DCF, processing of monthly colleague birthday certificates, open enrollment periods, colleague recognition incentives and celebrations, colleague relation events such as community service projects like Charity Walk and Aloha United Way fundraising campaigns and holiday events (you may be asked to attend these events)
  • Develops and maintains hotel communication systems such as the bulletin boards and suggestion boxes
  • Assist with processing and creating files for new hires, processing packets, certification tracking
  • Completes a variety of projects/duties as assigned by the Human Resources team. These tasks include but are not limited to the following:
  • Assisting with pre-employment process and tracking of temporary hires
  • Assisting with receiving job requisitions and posting positions
  • Attend and assist at Company recognition, fundraising and Employee events
  • Conduct regular HRIS audits against the Payroll and Time & Attendance Systems
  • Data entry and export to payroll of any movement in the Resort, promotions, new hires, terminations, status changes, etc.
  • Maintaining Hire Term Transfer Log, Seniority Reports, Less in Hire reports, etc. Ensuring that the union and Health and Welfare receive the Hire Term Transfer Log
  • Servicing the Copy Machine, including changing toner and calling for repair or servicing
  • Updating the company phone lists
  • Job verifications
  • Conducting exit interviews as directed by the Director of Human Resources
  • Assisting Payroll with Tips, distributing payroll reports, filing, providing W2
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Security Department.
  • Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
  • Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested when working in public areas.
  • May develop and/or update job descriptions for line and staff positions.
  • Participate and supports in all employee relations activities.
  • Supports and assists the employment process of colleagues.
  • Assists with office filing of personal and confidential correspondences and documents.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.


Education/Training Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.

Four (4) year college degree in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred.

Experience/Skill Requirements:
  • One (1) to two (2) years Human Resources experience, specializing in the employment and/or employee relations function.
  • Experience in public speaking preferred.


Licenses/Certifications:
  • Certification of tuberculosis clearance preferred
  • CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred.

  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, work in a fast paced environment handle multiple tasks and have a high level of patience.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to effectively utilize standard office equipment such as a photocopying machine, telephone, typewriter, facsimile, ID machine, name tag machine, overhead projector, VCR, video camera, CD/stereo equipment, 35 mm camera.
  • Knowledge of state and federal Employment and Labor Laws.
  • Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system utilizing various software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook and Powerpoint.


Communication Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively speak in public.
