Product Owner, Data Stream

Our client is an international association of financial industry professionals, bringing together over 200,000 investment experts worldwide. The organization operates more than one hundred applications and is embarking on a major initiative to modernize and upgrade its systems.
Position overview
The Product Owner will lead requirements definition, data product design, and stakeholder alignment across business and technical teams. This role ensures that data products, insights, and governance processes align with business objectives and are delivered with clarity and measurable value. The estimated salary range for this position is from $180,000 to $210,000 USD per year. Occasional travel to client sites within the Central Virginia region is required.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering with business stakeholders, defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and data use cases.
- Manage the backlog for data governance, data quality, data enrichment, and data insights workstreams.
- Define data products and participate in lifecycle management, prioritization, and adoption planning.
- Support the creation of data definitions, data contracts, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and analytics teams to ensure solution feasibility and alignment.
- Facilitate stakeholder reviews, demonstrations, and value-tracking.
- Minimum 5 years in business analysis, product ownership, or data-focused roles.
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle, data governance, and analytics workflows.
- Experience working with agile delivery teams.
- Excellent documentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
