We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Licensed Therapist/Intake Clinician to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team. In this essential role, you will be the first point of clinical contact for new and returning consumers-providing screenings, assessments, and supportive services to help individuals navigate and access the CC System of Care.

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven behavioral health professional who excels in fast-paced environments, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and thrives in both independent and team-based work. This position includes a caseload of adult consumers and involves providing services on-site and in the community as needed.

All clinical activities are performed under the supervision of an independently licensed clinician and within the scope of licensure and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to intake email, voicemail, walk-in requests, and after-hours call center communication to support timely screening and scheduling.

  • Conduct pre-screenings by phone or in person, assessing treatment needs, eligibility, motivation, and insurance coverage.

  • Provide direct clinical services including triage, psychosocial assessments, DLA-20 administration, diagnostic evaluations, community support, psychotherapy/counseling, urgent/emergency response, and treatment planning.

  • Complete consumer enrollment in the electronic medical record, including insurance verification, consent for treatment, clinical assessments, treatment and crisis plans, and orientation to agency services.

  • Evaluate consumer progress and adjust treatment methods and frequency as clinically indicated.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and billing in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to enhance service coordination and referral pathways.

  • Facilitate internal and external referrals to ensure continuity of care.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical supervisors, community support specialists, administrative staff, and pharmacy personnel.

  • Provide care coordination, including communication with external providers and agencies.

  • Complete administrative responsibilities such as enrollments, discharges, assignments, and transitions in care.

  • Meet all program-specific productivity and performance expectations.
Licensure & Qualifications

Required Licensure (District of Columbia):

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or

  • Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

  • Experience in outpatient behavioral health or community mental health settings

  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and crisis intervention skills
