Workday Payroll / Symplr Systems Specialist

  • 18+ month contract
  • Hybrid: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote weekly
  • Must be local to NYC area.
About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Systems Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expert-level knowledge in Workday Payroll and Symplr Time & Attendance systems, with a strong focus on payroll domain expertise.

Position Overview:

As a Workday Payroll Systems Specialist, you will serve as a key technical resource, combining deep financial operations knowledge with system configuration expertise to deliver actionable business solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and maintain Workday Payroll and related integrations
  • Analyze complex business problems and implement technical solutions
  • Lead system design, testing, deployment, and support activities
  • Develop and execute integration strategies with third-party systems
  • Provide technical expertise for system optimization and customization
  • Create and maintain process documentation
  • Conduct user training and provide mentorship to junior team members
  • Support financial analysis and business process improvement initiatives
  • Participate in system upgrades and enhancement projects
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in Workday Payroll configuration and implementation
  • Must have Workday Payroll configuration experience
  • Demonstrated expertise with Symplr Time & Attendance systems
  • Healthcare or not-for-profit sector experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements
  • Experience with revenue cycle management and information systems
