Advanced Practice Provider in Gastroenterology

Join our thriving Gastroenterology team in a rewarding role as an Advanced Practice Provider at the Outpatient Gastroenterology Clinic, located on the campus of SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital. We are looking for a talented and passionate provider to deliver exceptional care and support to our patients.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This includes 36 patient-facing hours per week, with a designated half-day for administrative responsibilities on either Tuesday or Thursday.
Position Overview:
In this exciting position, the Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive outpatient care. You will have the opportunity to see around 15 patients daily after training while managing patient encounters and ensuring efficient documentation closure. Our supportive team, including experienced mentors, is eager to guide you as you grow in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct new and follow-up patient visits in a fast-paced outpatient gastroenterology environment.
- Efficiently manage patient encounters and ensure timely documentation closure.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Perform administrative duties during designated half-day sessions each week.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and utilize available funds for memberships in professional societies and conferences.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree from an accredited nursing program or equivalent education for licensing.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Nurse Practitioner or 2 years as a registered nurse in an acute care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid nursing license for Missouri.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., ACNP-BC, FNP-C, AGPCNP-BC) or as a Physician Assistant.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
