About the Role

The Assistant Director of Nursing at Altenheim plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care within the facility. This position involves supporting the Director of Nursing in managing nursing staff, overseeing resident care standards, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The role requires a strong commitment to fostering a compassionate and efficient care environment that meets the physical and emotional needs of residents. The Assistant Director will also contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational effectiveness. Ultimately, this position is essential in maintaining the facility's reputation for excellence in nursing care and leadership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
  • Monitor resident care quality and safety, addressing any issues promptly to maintain high standards of care.
  • Participate in budgeting, resource allocation, and administrative tasks to support the operational efficiency of the nursing department.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or geriatric setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in nursing management or leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient care standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare management software.
  • Certification in Nursing Leadership or Administration (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification).
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and patient safety initiatives.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse care environment.
