Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented temp-to-hire Senior Payroll Specialist for an organization located in the Sacramento area This role is key in ensuring seamless payroll processing for 350+ employees. Core duties and responsibilities include:

  • Process payroll, including personnel action notices, deductions, 401 (k) changes, and benefit coordination.
  • Conduct payroll audits and reconciliations (biweekly, quarterly, annual).
  • Maintain complex Excel worksheets for payroll and benefits tracking.
  • Process accounts payable vouchers for temporary agency employees and monitor agency use against budget.
  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to employees and vendors.
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or AA degree in Business or Accounting is preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years of direct payroll experience managing payroll for 300+ employees.
  • Proficiency in Paylocity payroll software is a plus
  • General ledger, accounts payable, and reconciliation experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of data in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is from $50K to $71K, depending on experience.
