$25.00 - $29.61 per hour (Plus Quarterly Incentives)

The Residential Lending Specialist is the primary lending expert based within the financial center. This role is responsible for originating a wide range of credit products, with a core focus on residential mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) needs. The Specialist delivers personalized financial guidance, ensures exceptional client relationship care, and effectively balances sales performance, operational risk, and compliance.

This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements and requires maintaining good standing within the federal registry system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lending Origination: Originate First Mortgage and HELOC products in person or by telephone, guiding clients through the application process and assisting with documentation.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and deepen relationships by providing specialized and personalized advice on borrowing and banking offerings throughout the client's financial lifecycle.
  • Financial Analysis & Advice: Analyze client financial needs and recommend tailored financial services that best align with their unique priorities and goals.
  • Cross-Product Sales: Provide and cross-sell other core banking and credit products, including Auto Loans and Credit Cards.
  • Pipeline Management: Proactively connect with clients through outreach and consistent follow-up routines to meet evolving lending needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with financial center leaders and performance managers to provide specialized guidance and coaching to center associates on delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Compliance & Risk: Demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics, incorporate regulatory due diligence, and comply with all Federal and State compliance policies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of mortgage origination experience. (An equivalent internal role, such as Senior Banker or Financial Solutions Advisor at the organization for 1 year, may be accepted).
  • Technical Knowledge (Must-Haves):

    • Strong knowledge of credit and home lending requirements.
    • Ability to analyze financial and credit data to advise clients of product/pricing policies and guidelines.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging clients in person and over the phone.
    • Effective customer service skills with ability to manage the full client end-to-end experience and problem resolution.
  • Soft Skills: Critical thinker, dedicated, performance-oriented, strong work ethic, and a true team player.
  • Education: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent.
Desired Skills
  • Experience working in a financial center where goals were met or exceeded.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mortgage Products (Conventional, Jumbo, HELOC, Government) and other lending products.
  • Familiarity with structuring, processing, underwriting, closing procedures, and Federal regulations governing real estate lending.
