Our Construction team plays a critical role in delivering data centers from the initial concept all the way through to commissioning. By fostering collaboration with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Innovation and Engineering, we ensure that our projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Unlike many companies where construction roles are purely oversight, our technical staff at Vantage are empowered to directly drive processes, aligning operational sustainability with value engineering to meet corporate goals. The Senior Vice President of Construction Management will oversee and manage all construction functions associated with the development of a fast-tracked, multibillion-dollar data center campus, ensuring successful execution from all construction phases to commissioning and closeout. This role will lead a team of construction VPs and Directors, manage capital expenditure budgets, optimize costs, and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction in a demanding development landscape. Moreover, this position acts as a thought leader, supporting business-level decisions with professional cost analysis and estimating capabilities. Construction Management:

• Oversee the management and administration of construction functions for the data center campus.
• Lead a team of construction VPs and Directors responsible for all project functions.
• Manage overall campus CAPEX budgets and ensure compliance with financial controls and reporting expectations.
• Champion best practices across all construction lifecycle phases, from pre-construction planning to closeout.
• Address customer satisfaction and resolve any service-related issues in future builds.

Leadership and Coordination:

• Act as a strategic thought leader to drive coordination among internal stakeholders.
• Integrate efforts across various internal teams including New Site Development, EH&S, Design, Procurement, and more to ensure project alignment.
• Handle resource planning, organizational design, and project prioritization for full-time and third-party teams.
• Foster a high-performance culture through mentorship and structured development initiatives.
• Promote a safety-focused culture; prioritize safety above all else.
• Build collaborative relationships between the internal Construction team and external contractors/vendors.

Budget and Cost Management:

• Collaborate on the development and management of campus CAPEX budgets.
• Support sales and real estate in customer engagement and ensure alignment between lease commitments and construction delivery.
• Work with finance and cost teams on forecast/variance analysis and contractor management.
• Maintain and develop contractor/vendor relationships.
• Incorporate lessons learned into continuous improvement efforts.

Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports, updates, and presentations for C-suite review.
• Generate proformas and evaluate major trade bid packages.
• Provide cost analysis and estimating support for construction teams.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with Operations to ensure project delivery meets operational requirements.
• Support pre-construction estimating and cost optimization.
• Offer immediate feedback regarding cost drivers and opportunities for savings.

Additional Duties:

• Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

• 15-20 years of progressive construction experience, including senior leadership overseeing complex data center projects.
• Direct experience in managing large-scale mission-critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience in CSA and MEP construction management is required.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects from inception to completion.

Skills:

Travel is generally limited to occasional visits to vendor facilities, as this is primarily a site-based leadership role. Willingness to relocate to the primary delivery region is required.
