Technical Field Support Consultant
Duration: 24 Months Contract & Fulltime Both
Location: Albany, NY

Location:
- Resource will be traveling statewide approximately 3 days per week.
  • Some overnight stays may be required.
  • An expense budget will be available for travel costs.
    • Expense invoices will be due within 7 days of travel.
- Remote work will be allowed when not traveling.
- There may be a need to go into a NYS ITS office occasionally

Job Duties:
  • Completion of site survey documentation (site survey workbook, etc.)
  • Document the site environment through photographs
  • Provide rack and/or data closet information leveraging template documentation.
  • With client guidance and oversight, the consultant will assess the current environment and perform a needs analysis to ensure the site has the necessary equipment to function as required.
  • Assist in performing network equipment installation, relocation, and removal. Provide support for onsite equipment, such as Workstations (PCs), Servers, VoIP Phones, and Wireless Access Points (WAPs).
  • Identification and installation/DE installation support for networking and data communications equipment.
  • Provide field support for rack and stack and identification associated with network connectivity.
  • Provide site survey support, basic site survey preparation, cable connectivity, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide network assistance, inventory, and asset control oversight.

Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED with Math, Science, Engineering, or technical background preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of four years' experience.

Required Skills:
  • 48 Months experience installing/troubleshooting PCs, Printers, Servers, Data Communications Equipment, Data cable installation/troubleshooting, and VoIP telephony.
