Schedule: 12-hour variable night shifts: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sundays
SUMMARY:
Join our dedicated team of frontline healthcare professionals as a Paramedic, where you will provide critical emergency medical care in pre-hospital settings. As a key member of our Emergency Medical Services team, you will respond to urgent calls, assess patients' conditions, deliver life-saving interventions, and ensure safe transportation to medical facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, assessing patients' conditions, and determining appropriate medical interventions in collaboration with dispatch.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities, continually monitoring their condition and providing necessary care during transit.
- Administer advanced life support (ALS) measures, including airway management, intravenous therapy, defibrillation, and medication administration.
- Collaborate effectively with emergency dispatchers, firefighters, law enforcement, and healthcare professionals.
- Document patient care clearly and accurately, maintaining comprehensive reports on assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
- Ensure emergency vehicles and medical equipment are clean and ready for immediate response.
- Provide education and reassurance to patients and their families during crises, ensuring a compassionate care experience.
- Adhere strictly to legal, ethical, and safety protocols.
- Interpret medical instructions and perform calculations accurately as needed.
- Demonstrate the physical capability to lift and assist patients, working in various challenging environments.
- Engage in continuous education to stay informed on medical protocols and enhance your skills.
- Maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure, emotionally charged situations.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Work in diverse and uncontrolled environments, including indoor, outdoor, and potentially hazardous situations.
- Be physically prepared to assist in lifting/moving patients (up to 250 lbs with partner assistance) and transporting essential medical equipment.
- Navigate and perform tasks across various terrains or in emergency conditions.
- Transport essential medical equipment without assistance.
- Remain calm and focused under stress to deliver optimal patient care.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current NYS Licensed Paramedic
- AHA BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Physical capability for heavy work, including lifting/moving heavy objects periodically.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years’ experience in 911 and inter-facility transport
- Experience with critical care transports
EDUCATION:

PAY RANGE:
$27.50 - $33.00
