?About the Project/Clinic:

AMI will be assisting the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center in Fairbanks, Alaska with providing Anesthesiology staff.

Job Summary:

The Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center (CAIHC), an outpatient health facility serving the Interior Alaska Native population, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Anesthesiologist to join their growing Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time position with no call and no holiday responsibilities, providing an excellent work-life balance in a supportive and collaborative care environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities (If not applicable, please write N/A):

Will oversee a Nurse Anesthetist.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Conduct preoperative anesthesia evaluations in collaboration with the surgical team, assessing patient risk for ambulatory surgery, including a high volume of colonoscopies and esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGDs).
• Provide culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population, including Alaska Native communities.
• Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care in a modern outpatient surgical setting.
• Respond promptly to rapid response events and medical codes within the ASC, lead resuscitation efforts and coordinate emergency management.
• Participate in ASC quality improvement initiatives, including process review and enhancement, staff training, and compliance with best practices in perioperative care.
• Collaborate with nursing, surgical, and administrative staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safe procedural environments. The job duties are flexible and subject to change depending upon operational needs.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team.?
• Excellent communication and time management skills.?
• Must be able to successfully complete the AMI Credentialing Process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Education & Experience:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program.
• Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology (American Board of Anesthesiology or AOA equivalent).
• Unrestricted license (or eligible for licensure) to practice medicine in the state of Alaska.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Experience in ambulatory surgical settings is preferred but not required.
