A prestigious boutique law firm is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Attorney to join its Private Client practice. This opportunity is ideal for someone with deep expertise in sophisticated tax planning, compliance, and controversy matters who wants to work closely with high-net-worth clients and have a significant impact within a growing practice.
What You’ll Do
- Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses on complex income, gift, and estate tax matters.
- Oversee compliance for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and nonprofits.
- Collaborate with accountants, fiduciaries, and advisors to craft effective tax strategies.
- Represent clients in IRS audits, notices, and controversy matters.
- Stay ahead of changes in tax law and communicate insights to clients and the team.
- Active Illinois law license required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in income tax law, compliance, estate planning, or controversy.
- LL.M. in Taxation, CPA, or CFP credential preferred.
- Strong drafting skills, analytical ability, and proven client relationship experience.
- Background in a family office, private client law firm, or wealth management setting a plus.
