Job Description
Department: Manufacturing
Job Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Salary Non-Exempt
Reports To: New Production Manager & Repower Production Manager
Location: Channelview, TX; EQ Facility.
Amount of Travel Required: 10%
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.; overtime as necessary.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Materials Control Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the flow of materials within the organization, ensuring accurate inventory levels and timely procurement to support production needs. This role involves monitoring stock levels and maintaining detailed records to ensure material availability while minimizing waste or shortages. The specialist also plays a key role in identifying inefficiencies in material handling processes and contributing to improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")
• Receives incoming supplies, materials, and equipment from warehouse.
• Verifies delivered goods are received according to ordered quantity and arrive in good condition.
• Assists with packing and/or unpacking of products or parts.
• Assist in developing a system to account for issues, returns and receipts.
• Successfully operate a forklift and other materials handling equipment.
• Maintain logistics deliverables to include:
o Routing
o Footprint
o movement.
• Assist in creating and implementing a 90-day build schedule.
• Works with Quality Control department to obtain RMA to manage inventory movement to and from warehouse.
• Ensure proper storage, organization, and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss, while adhering to safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of material usage, stock levels, and order statuses, and provide regular reports on inventory performance, discrepancies, and material related issues to management.
• Collaborates with Project Manager and production team to plan and implement production schedules.
• Occasionally drive company vehicle to pick up or deliver products or materials.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma required.
• 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES:
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work within cross-functional team environments and maintain professional behavior.
• Possess investigative ability including process and technical gaps.
• Working knowledge of computer terminal operation utilizing MRP (Sage, Oracle a plus).

The Material Controls Specialist is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. They work primarily in a shop/outdoor environment. The work environment includes exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, and inclement weather. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated personal protective equipment (coveralls, safety boots, safety gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, and ear protection) and must strictly adhere to safety policy. Material Controls Specialists must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and be able to lift 50-100 lbs. with a team lift.
Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
