A Physical Therapist Assistant enhances the lives of individuals by following a plan of PT treatment established by a physical therapist using evidence-based techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.

What does a day in the life look like?
  • Collaborates with supervising physical therapist to effectively plan transition of patients between service lines.
  • Completes patient treatments efficiently in accordance with plan of care progressing patient as appropriate to achieve established goals.
  • Completes accurate charging of services and provides documentation to support the charges and provision of the therapy services.
  • Manages each patient's plan of care effectively by timely interdisciplinary collaboration and communication with physician involvement as needed.
  • Collaborates with and delegates appropriate tasks to techs and other support personnel per federal and state regulations.
What should I have to be considered?
  • Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program required.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Nebraska or compact state as a physical therapist assistant.
  • BLS certification by the AHA required.
