Pharmacy Intern/Trainee Position Summary

Pharmacy technician assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The inventory, distribution/inventory of medications may be required.

Pharmacy Intern/Trainee Position Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma and one year of college including math or chemistry; this requirement may be waived in the case where the employee has had prior pharmacy experience.
  • Registered by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Maryland and must follow all regulations as per those regulations.
  • Certification through accredited National Certification Board.
Experience
  • Valid driver's license and verification of insurability under Peninsula Regional Medical Center's automobile insurance plan.
Pharmacy Intern/Trainee Work Schedule
  • Day and evening shifts.
  • Works alternate weekends.
  • May be required to work beyond the normal schedule.
  • The part-time position works additional hours to cover the schedule in cases of sick time, vacation or staffing shortages of the full time positions.
Pharmacy Intern/Trainee Benefits
  • At TidalHealth, full-time employees working at least 72 hours per pay period, part-time employees working at least 36 hours per pay period and part-time employees working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.

Salary range:$17.00-$21.25 Commensurate with experience
