Job Description

A rapidly growing ecological restoration firm is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of restoration projects across forests, meadows, streams, and working lands in the Mid-Atlantic. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable managing people, logistics, budgets, and client expectations as they are overseeing field implementation. It is a key leadership position with direct influence on project quality and ecological outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage all phases of restoration projects including planning, field execution, monitoring, and reporting
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, internal teams, and client communication
• Lead permitting activities, design collaboration, and site assessments
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients: agencies, nonprofits, private landowners, and municipalities
• Support hiring, mentoring, and development of Field Leaders and field technicians
• Ensure safety, quality, and ecological standards are consistently met by field crews
• Coordinate with internal nursery/logistics teams for plant materials, equipment, and supplies
• Produce clear documentation, progress updates, and project close-out materials

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in ecology, environmental science, landscape architecture, agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience managing environmental, construction, or land-based restoration projects
• Strong understanding of native plant communities, ecological processes, and/or environmental permitting
• Excellent organizational, communication, and client-facing skills
• Ability to travel regionally and provide on-site leadership as required
• Proven ability to lead teams in high-accountability, field-based environments
