CMK Resources is partnering with one of the top enterprise storage technology leaders to deliver a high-impact, long-term engagement supporting a major hyperscale cloud customer. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Storage Engineer or Resident Consultant with deep expertise in Pure Storage FlashArray and automation to help drive large-scale data center transformation and automation initiatives.

Role Overview

The Resident will play a key technical and consultative role in supporting a multi-data center rollout. The initial engagement focuses on block storage integration and migration, followed by expanded initiatives around file and object. This is a hands-on technical role requiring a combination of deep Pure Storage FlashArray knowledge, Linux proficiency, automation awareness, and strong customer-facing soft skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and integration of Pure Storage FlashArray systems across five data centers, ensuring stable and efficient block storage operations
  • Support initial rollout of 1,000-VM building blocks per Pure Storage FlashArray, including setup of multipathing, connectivity, and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with customer engineering teams to design, test, and document storage configurations supporting high IOPS workloads (up to 400k sustained per block)
  • Guide the customer on best practices for failure domain management, including POD and region-based fault isolation and potential ActiveCluster implementations
  • Integrate storage automation with Fusion as the primary endpoint, enabling dynamic pod and region scaling for workload placement
  • Serve as a key liaison between the customer and support teams to streamline issue resolution and reduce escalations
  • Contribute to non-disruptive upgrade planning and operational continuity across software and hardware lifecycles
  • Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation, and training sessions for customer teams
  • Drive conversations around architecture, automation, and optimization to support a fast-growing, cloud-native infrastructure environment
Required Skills & Experience
  • Extensive enterprise experience with Pure Storage FlashArray block-level configuration, management, and integration in Linux-based environments
  • Proven ability to navigate Linux file systems, manage multipathing, and handle complex host configurations
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, CLI, replication, and security within Pure Storage FlashArray environments
  • Hands-on experience working in KVM-based infrastructure (non-VMware) and containerized environments
  • Scripting and automation familiarity (Ansible, REST, or Python)
  • Strong networking knowledge including routing, configuration management, and connectivity protocols (NVMe over TCP/iSCSI, 100 Gb environments)
  • Consultative presence: capable of managing high-level technical discussions, pushing back when needed, and maintaining alignment with customer goals
  • Background supporting service provider environments (e.g., Equinix or similar)
  • Ability to start in December preferred
Preferred:
  • Linux system administration background
  • Ansible and/or Python automation development experience
  • FlashBlade file/object storage expertise
  • Familiarity with Portworx or similar container-native storage solutions
  • Local to the San Francisco Bay Area (preferred but not required)
