Position Summary:
The Medical Office LPN will deliver both direct and indirect nursing care for patients, adhering to established standards and practices. This role includes coordinating patient care, acting as the primary liaison between providers and patients, and executing both administrative and clinical duties with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Education/Certification:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Current licensure in the state of Connecticut
- Maintain clinical competency required for your area of assignment, including Basic Cardiac Life Support
Experience:
- Preferred: Experience with computer scheduling systems (i.e. Meditech and Ntierprise)
- Minimum: 1 year working in a medical facility
Competencies:
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic computer proficiency
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, confidential medical environment
- Team-oriented with excellent communication abilities
- Knowledge of safety precautions to maintain a safe work environment
- Understanding of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices
- Physical ability to perform duties such as standing or sitting for prolonged periods and lifting moderate weights
- Reliable transportation and willingness to float to other offices as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide general nursing care, including administering prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during exams and procedures
- Observe, report, and document patients' conditions and responses to treatments
- Educate patients and families on diagnostic procedures, medications, and health maintenance
- Respond and prepare for emergency situations efficiently
- Document all dispensed medication accurately
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and report needs for reordering
- Assist physicians with office surgical procedures
- Prepare specimens for lab testing as directed
- Handle incoming patient-related calls and provide instructions
- Manage the vaccine program according to state guidelines
- Maintain organized patient records and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations
- Participate in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations
- Adhere to patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
- Perform additional duties as directed by management
