Staff Accountant Job Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting and financial operations by maintaining accurate records, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role assists with the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, prepares financial reports, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial data.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with closing activities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Review census and payer mix revenue to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.
  • Partner with operations, payroll, and accounts payable teams to ensure accurate financial data.
Senior Accountant Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the organization's financial records while ensuring full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reconciling complex financial data to deliver timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reports. The Senior Accountant serves as a trusted financial partner to leadership, providing analytical insights and supporting strategic decision-making. In addition, this role contributes to the continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, and overall operational efficiency.

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and overall performance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff while collaborating on cross-functional financial initiatives.
  • Manage centralized data entry operations requiring strong technical expertise and attention to detail.
  • Participate in testing upcoming projects and provide constructive feedback to support successful implementation.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by management, including leading projects and preparing presentations.
