FLEX SALES ASSOCIATE - Center Core (250002WD)
Primary Location: United States-Connecticut-Groton
Organization: New London
Pay Range: 16.35 + DOE
Job Summary: As a sales associate you will be the face of our company. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. You must be capable of learning about what we sell and articulate our purpose in a manner that is educational, insightful, and professional. Maintain a positive and outgoing demeanor that enjoys serving others and making a positive impact to the organization.
Responsibilities- CUSTOMER SERVICE Proactively engage and connect with customers; ask questions and listen to customers needs; direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, STAR card; provide premier customer service; cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships; take accountability for your actions and outcomes.
- ORGANIZATION Maintain store appearance.
- SALES Cross-sell products and know the store layout; make suggestions on latest trends and current promotions based on customer needs; upsell products; learn product features and stay current with trends; leverage company tools and technology to provide product knowledge and specs.
- OPERATIONS Use Point-of-Sales system; process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit/debit cards; cash handling and returning accurate change; complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
- INVENTORY Be the keeper of merchandise; complete inventory processes; ensure merchandise is checked in and accurately ticketed; participate in periodic inventories as needed.
- DEPENDABILITY Adherence to assigned work schedule; thorough follow through on assignments; perform other duties as assigned.
- PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
- EXPERIENCE Retail experience preferred but not required.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents; communicate with customers, peers, and management; professional telephone etiquette.
- MATH SKILLS Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- REASONING ABILITY Ability to multi-task, be attentive to customers, and remain flexible to business needs; work as part of a team; take initiative without direct supervision.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to move, talk, hear, reach, and stand for extended periods; may lift 2550 lbs; indoor or outdoor work depending on location.
Work Hours
Available to work a variety of hours which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
