Position Purpose:
As a Veterinary Technician at our Vetco Total Care hospitals, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional veterinary care and customer service. You will embody our mission and values while ensuring a positive experience for our clients and their pets. You will be vital in fostering a motivated and cohesive team at our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome clients and their pets upon arrival, obtain weight and vital signs, and begin documentation of their visit through our electronic medical record system.
- Assist and support veterinarians with appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and emergencies, under their supervision.
- Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, monitor them during recovery, and ensure their comfort and safety.
- Administer treatments, including medications and therapies, as directed by the veterinarian.
- Manage appointments, maintain records, and assist in inventory management, while ensuring exceptional communication with clients.
- Support the training of new staff members and contribute to a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized hospital setting, adhering to hygiene and maintenance schedules.
Qualifications:
- Completed education required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a veterinary practice.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Compassionate demeanor with the ability to remain professional in high-stress situations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment:
This position primarily takes place within our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital. Direct contact with clients and their pets is a significant part of the role.
Compensation:
The hourly pay for this role ranges from $18.00 to $28.50, based on experience and other factors.
