Responsibilities of the Heavy Equipment Mechanic:

  • Conduct repairs on customer vehicles and trailers
  • Execute basic welding tasks as needed
  • Communicate with customers and management regarding repair progress, cost estimates, and any necessary changes
  • Manage job profitability and minimize warranty claims by maintaining quality standards
  • Prepare and submit work orders for invoicing
  • Keep track of inventory and supplies
  • Compile lists of necessary replacement parts
  • Maintain a clean workspace and adhere to safety standards

Qualifications We Seek:

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a diesel mechanic in the heavy-duty industry
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or equivalent
  • Personal tools for the job, or commitment to acquiring them as your career progresses (tool reimbursement program available)
  • Physical ability to lift items weighing over 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license or CDL with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a physically demanding role requiring active engagement
  • Able to lift heavy parts, exceeding 50 lbs, with support devices
  • Must stand for extended periods and operate a forklift
  • Frequent movements including walking, bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching
  • Regular computer use as part of daily responsibilities

Work Environment:

  • Work will take place in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Encountering typical hazards associated with vehicle service environments, adhering to established safety protocols is essential
