Legal Administrative Assistant

Shumaker is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Real Estate, Construction & Development team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in real estate law, including but not limited to, commercial real estate, construction & development, pre- and post-closing, land use, and litigation.
This full-time position will work in-person at our Tampa, Florida office.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, proofread and format various documents as requested by the attorneys and/or paralegals
- Assist with legal research related to property records, zoning laws, land use regulations, etc.
- Apply various procedural guidelines for differing jurisdictions
- Maintain and update client files, case documents, and transaction records
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys and paralegals, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and scheduling meetings
- Communicate professionally with clients and colleagues
- Handle confidential information with discretion
- Manage multiple deadline-sensitive priorities
- At least 5 years of real estate legal administrative assistant experience
- High School Diploma or higher

Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting and standing, with static posture for up to 30 minutes at a time.
- Bending and stooping occasionally, up to 30 minutes per day.
- Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day.
