Day to Day job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily)
- A Sr. Business Objects developer uses the SAP BusinessObjects platform to design and build data management and business intelligence modeling and reporting.
- Understanding firm needs, data flow, and operations
- Creating systems and solutions, including Business Objects Universe and Reports that connect to relational databases.
- Validating reports, dashboards, and cubes with other developers
- Ensuring systems and solutions are well-documented.
- Perform analysis and design; write technical specifications; configuration and programming.
- Extensive knowledge in Web Intelligence 4.3 to create templates and modeling.
- Identification and activation of Business Data into defined data model/universe.
- Design and develop complex BO Universes using IDT.
- Investigate all reported problems/errors & initiate amendments & testing so that the system can operate correctly & efficiently.
- Experience in conducting user training, coaching internal team members will be added advantage.
- Strong SQL knowledge, able to write complex queries.
- Extensive knowledge on Derived Tables, Aggregate Awareness, Joins and Contexts.
- Able to provide various solutions in report level while upstream data cannot be handled to satisfy report requirement.
- Experience in writing complex queries and procedure/functions and Performance tune complex SQL queries.
- Provide support in various testing phases including but not limited to integration testing, User Acceptance Test (UAT) & implementation activities which Includes fixing the reported problems/bugs of the system to ensure the smooth execution of programs in the production environment.
- Good communication skills
Basic Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each)
- 15+ years of Business Objects suite development / design experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-identification/solving skills, strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the SAP Business Objects product suite specifically focused on web intelligence reports and Business Objects Universes
- Must have excellent communication skills and must be able to articulate work to senior management.
- Good understanding of different testing methodologies and how to execute them.
