We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant specializing in Trusts and Estates to join our team in Hauppauge. This role is essential in supporting attorneys with various administrative and legal tasks in a dynamic legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing documents, and facilitating client communication.
  • Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Assist in estate administration activities, including probate filings and communication with beneficiaries.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare concise summaries for attorney review.
  • Coordinate with courts, financial institutions, and government entities as required.
  • Ensure client files are maintained and updated in accordance with firm policies.
  • Support billing processes, track expenses, and perform other assigned administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in estate planning, trust administration, or elder law is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software; experience with Clio, WealthCounsel, or HotDocs is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Holding a notary certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Compensation and Benefits:
