- During initial license training, total compensation earnings range from $159,000 to $182,000 per year (based on experience and previous license status), including a 15% annual incentive bonus, an initial sign-on bonus, and additional bonuses tied to training milestones, along with a robust benefits package.
- After obtaining the Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license, total compensation earnings will increase to $191,000 per year, along with a target 15% annual bonus, a License Premium, and overtime pay at 1.5 times the base salary for mandated operation shift coverage.
Relocation Assistance: Assistance may be available for employees who meet designated criteria outlined in the Company’s policy.
Constellation is looking for Initial License Trainees (ILT) to become licensed Senior Reactor Operators (SRO) supporting the Dresden Nuclear Station.
These Initial License Trainees (ILT) will undergo training starting in June 2026.
The primary aim of this role is to prepare candidates for the responsibilities of an Operations Shift Supervisor, culminating in the attainment of a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). Once licensed, individuals will oversee the operations of licensed reactor operators in the reactor control room and supervise team members.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities
- Participate in Initial License Training (ILT) consisting of classroom education and hands-on training.
- Complete all training stages successfully to earn the SRO license and perform as an Operations Shift Supervisor.
- Fulfill additional job responsibilities as directed by management, including emergency response and support during outages.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- One of the following qualifications:
- 1 year as a Reactor Operator at a comparable facility or 1.5 years at a non-comparable facility (e.g., Pressurized Water Reactor to PWR, or Boiling Water Reactor to BWR).
- 1.5 years or more in a position equivalent to Reactor Operator or Supervisor at a military reactor (e.g., Power Plant Watch Engineer, Engineering Watch Supervisor).
- A degree in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences, or a professional engineer license, with more than 1.5 years in an equivalent role as a qualified non-licensed operator or supervisor in a relevant area.
- Maintain qualifications for unescorted access, as required, along with passing medical examinations as per job responsibilities.
