About Us

Milestone Mill is a nonprofit grain mill and food distribution center dedicated to strengthening the Hudson Valley food system. We work to make regionally grown and freshly milled grains accessible to our community and partner programs. Our team supports local farmers, food access organizations, local schools, and mission-driven businesses.

About This Role

We’re looking for a dependable, professional non-CDL driver to support our growing distribution operations. This position combines local food delivery (Hudson Valley & NYC routes) with warehouse responsibilities including order picking, loading, and inventory support.

This is a stable, full-time role with predictable hours — no gig routes, no overnights, and no seasonal layoffs.

What You’ll Do

Driving & Delivery

    • Operate 18-22-ft box truck and Transit-style vans (no CDL required)
    • Deliver packaged food products and palletized grains to wholesale customers & partner organizations
    • Mix of pallet & hand deliveries (pallet jack + hand truck)
    • Navigate urban driving in NYC and back country roads safely and professionally

Warehouse & Operations

    • Pick and pack orders
    • Load/unload freight and delivery vehicles
    • Assist with inventory, restocking, and warehouse organization
    • Operate pallet jacks and forklifts (we provide training & certification

What We're Looking For

Required

    • 2+ years of professional driving experience (box truck or similar)
    • Comfortable driving in urban environments (NYC preferred)
    • Clean driving record
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and work on your feet
    • Strong reliability, communication, and customer service skills

Bonus

    • Warehouse or logistics experience
    • Forklift operation experience (or willingness to learn)
    • Interest in local agriculture, food systems, and community-based work

Schedule

    • Monday–Friday
    • Typical hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Occasional early mornings depending on route
    • 40 hours/week (overtime rare but may occur occasionally)
