MRI Tech Location: Concord, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 10 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: MRI Technologist I Profession: MRI Technologist Specialty: - Duration: Direct Hire Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Required Certifications: ARRT (R)(MR) and BLS Required Must-Have: High volume ED, inpatient, outpatient experience with Siemens 3T, GE 1.5T, and EPIC Description: The MRI Technologist I performs procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. This equipment includes the scanner, post-processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport, and patient monitoring equipment. Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exams. Contacts the ordering provider when there are discrepancies. Properly identifies patients using two patient identifiers and assists patients while offering a brief explanation of the procedures. Prepares patients for the procedure with a full explanation and documents on appropriate worksheets. Interviews patients to obtain a complete medical history. Reviews electronic medical records to obtain pertinent clinical history. Records medical history on requisitions. Correlates other test results and laboratory data with the exam being performed. Assumes responsibility for the exam from the beginning until completion of dictated results. Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols. Records contrast type and amount upon request. Evaluates the technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed. Recognizes abnormal anatomy and processes any additional images or measurements as instructed. Performs basic patient care functions and informs appropriate nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition. Initiates life support measures for patients when necessary. Assists in code blue procedures during medical emergencies. Performs MRI scanning and assists Physicians/PA during invasive procedures. Practices proper sterile technique in the preparation of necessary supplies. Performs all invasive procedures in accordance with bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures. Maintains knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease. Adheres to hospital fire and safety procedures. Attends all in-service classes and completes all required safety modules. Operates the radiology computer system to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies. Documents contrast administration in the medication administration record. Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Keeps the area completely stocked. Cleans all work areas to promote cleanliness in the workplace. Assists other medical personnel when performing exams or services in conjunction with an MRI scan. Maintains knowledge of all MRI safety requirements for staff and patients while in and around magnetic fields. Requirements Required for Onboarding BLS Skills Checklist Specialty Exam
