Currently hiring for one part-time shift, every other weekend. There is shift differential available:

  • NIGHTS - Every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday (7:00pm to 7:00am)
About the Role Detox Nurses at Radix Recovery are key members of our multidisciplinary team, delivering direct patient care while supporting clients through one of the most vulnerable times in their recovery journey. This role involves medical monitoring, crisis support, and therapeutic engagement-all within a trauma-informed and culturally competent framework. What You'll Do
  • Conduct patient assessments, monitor withdrawal symptoms, and administer medications per provider orders.
  • Facilitate intakes, discharges, and referrals to appropriate care settings.
  • Utilize CIWA and COWS protocols to monitor and document detox progression.
  • Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and peers to adjust treatment plans and ensure patient safety.
  • Supervise and delegate to LPNs, Techs, or CNAs as applicable.
  • Deliver education to clients about detox, recovery, and medical issues related to addiction.
  • Accurately chart in EHR and maintain HIPAA/42 CFR compliance.
  • Support insurance documentation and coordination as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and trauma-informed emotional support.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and positive working environment.
Qualifications
  • Active RN or LPN license in the state of Iowa (unencumbered)
  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Preferred: 2+ years of direct patient care experience; experience in mental health or addiction detox settings is a plus (but not required-we'll train the right candidate)
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, emotionally dynamic environment
