M9 Solutions is seeking a System Admin to work on a government contract for a client located in San Diego, CA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Building, configuring, administering, and troubleshooting Linux servers and user workstation hardware/software.
  • Designing and implementing workgroup-scale networks to support development and test environments.
  • Building and managing authentication, file-sharing, and collaboration servers for mixed client systems (Windows/Linux).
  • Working with cybersecurity staff to apply ICD-503 security controls and system hardening standards for classified systems.
  • Documenting system configurations for new and existing systems.
  • Managing centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory.
  • Maintaining, installing, collecting logs, and interfacing with various security tools.
  • Engineering systems administration solutions for operational and project needs.
  • Implementing software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware.
  • Developing and maintaining scripts or applications (e.g., Shell, Perl, PowerCLI, PowerShell) to automate administrative tasks.
  • Monitoring system performance, conducting fault analysis, and capacity planning.
  • Providing input to improve the stability, security, and scalability of IT environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration.
  • Experience with Shell, Perl, and/or PowerCLI/PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of DNS, LDAP, and network fundamentals.
  • Experience with YUM, DNF, or RedHat Satellite for OS updates and management.
  • Understanding of security technologies, including Trellix Anti-Virus, Host-Based Security System (HBSS), and Carbon Black.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and scalable architectures.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with Git configuration management.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, S3, and EFS.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and tools.

  • M9 Solutions' pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, location, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Salary Range

$60,000-$180,000 USD
