Salary: Range 44: $ 47,100 - $ 61,644 per year (DOQ).
Opens: November 24, 2025
Closes: November 30, 2025. AOC reserves the right to close the recruitment at any time.
*Duration: This position is temporary and anticipated for up to six (6) months.
WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION
AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to an interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager.
This position requires you to work onsite five (5) days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
Some of the duties you will perform are:
- Answers telephones, receives, screens and directs telephone calls; receives and refers visitors, staff and/or the public while implementing sign-in and security procedures; responds to inquiries regarding departmental procedures and services.
- Formats and prepares correspondence such as reports, forms, letters, etc., of general and specialized nature from written notes, oral instructions or other copy using office suite software tools; proofreads, edits, and revises draft correspondence and reports to improve clarity and quality.
- Updates, corrects, and uploads documents to the web (i.e. Internal tools such as Court Directory, AOC Information Sheet, Scan Directory, AOC Mail, and AOC phone lists); maintains databases; processes travel requests.
- Summarizes or compiles statistical data to complete reports and reviews reporting forms for completeness and accuracy.
- Screens and distributes mail, E-mail, phone and fax messages; makes copies; distributes records, office supplies, and other materials; orders, receives, and maintains inventory.
- Assists with meeting arrangements, assists in the creation of meeting agendas, produces meeting materials, makes copies, notifies attendees and drafts meeting minutes.
- Develops and maintains filing and indexing systems, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
- Keeps supervisor informed of due dates and significant items requiring action.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate of Arts from an accredited college or business school
- Two (2) years of clerical experience in a professional work environment including one (1) year of experience with office suite software tools.
THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft 365 products, including Teams, Outlook, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, and others, with the expertise appropriate to the responsibilities of the role.
- Professionalism in dealing with customers, clients, staff, management.
- Understands customer expectations and ensures work meets those expectations.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop recommendations and options.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to learn and use new computer applications as needed.
- Ability to be punctual and dependable.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of grammar, spelling, clerical procedures, and office procedures.
- Effectively manages time to meet deadlines, and work schedules
- Accuracy and attention to detail in the delivery of work products.
- Proficient skills in using office.
